About me

Hi everyone! I am Konstantin, Associate Professor at the Center for Planetary Habitability (PHAB) at the University of Oslo (since 01/2025).

For the past years I have been a Privatdozent at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and a researcher at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Berlin (07/2024 -12/2024).

My expertises are on the numerical computation of cool star astrospheres, the transport of charged particles in astrospheric and planetary magnetic fields, and the atmospheric secondary particle regime induced by high- and low-energetic cosmic ray particles. The latter includes, for example, the reconstruction of cosmogenic radionuclide production rates (e.g., 10Be, 14C, and 36Cl) over thousands of years. My current research focus is on the investigation of the radiation and particle environment of exoplanets around cools stars and its impact on the (exo)planetary climate, chemistry, biosignatures (i.e., signatures of life in exoplanetary atmospheres such as ozone and methane), and thus (exo)planetary habitability.

I am also part of the PLATO and Ariel Mission Consortium and a LIFE mission team member.
